The idea of Rinascimento was born during a contact seminar organised by the Leonardo da Vinci Spanish National Agency. The seminar was built around the concept of Key Competences; their improvement is a basic issue in order to achieve the Lisbon Agenda goal. Rinascimento represent an answer to the need of key competences improvement.

The idea is to create a network at European level made up of high specialised expert in the subject of key competences.

During the first year of the project will be selected a public administration, a social negotiator, a training centre, an university or university-enterprise foundation and a private enterprise for each partner country (Spain, Sweden, France, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania). All these entities will set up the network.

During the second year the created network will start working on a key competences map in each participating country.

At the end of the Rinascimento project the created network will start working on European Projects in the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme. These projects will aim to solve the weak points detected in the mapping phase.  The network will be also extended to all EU members countries by means of other partnership projects analogous to Rinascimento.
